Ferrosilicon 65 Ferro Alloys

Ferrosilicon 65 is an alloy composed of iron and silicon with a silicon content of approximately 65%. It is commonly used as a deoxidizer, an inoculant, and a source of silicon and iron in the production of steel and cast iron.

In steel production, ferrosilicon 65 is added to molten steel to remove impurities and improve the mechanical properties of the final product. It also acts as a grain refiner, helping to produce a fine-grained steel with improved strength and toughness. Additionally, ferrosilicon 65 is used as a nucleating agent in the production of cast iron, helping to control the formation of graphite and improve the quality of the final product.

Ferrosilicon 65 is also used in the production of other ferroalloys such as ferromanganese and ferrochrome. It is added to these alloys to increase their silicon content, which improves their strength, ductility, and corrosion resistance.
